About Me
Lisa Marlo has been working as a "scribe", calligrapher in Greenville, South Carolina for over 25 years.

With a keen interest in math and history, calligraphy always appealed to Lisa Marlo. With calligraphy predominantly math based at its core, this art form became a natural love affair.

So you may ask yourself, "is calligraphy math or art?" Surprisingly, Calligraphy is both and that is why calligraphy is so different compared to other art forms.

Explanation of MATH: Learning and becoming skillful at this art form requires spatial recognition of patterns and shapes with a heavy emphasis on proportions and letter consistency, shapes and patterns and proficiency.
Explanation of ART: The art portion of calligraphy is pretty obvious with its swirls, flourishes, and curls and will manifest itself differently in all calligraphers with their own styles.
So in the end, the finished produce of all calligraphy is of course ART.
As this skill set called CALLIGRAPHY is a "lost art" this day and age, Lisa Marlo takes great pride in sharing with her clients and friends this very special and unique art form that flows from her hands. Using liquid ink and a nib which is much like that of William Shakespeare and so many more of the age. A gift developed with hard work and a bit of tenacity that has grown through the years.
After all, the first impression for all events is the invitation that your guest receives in the mail.
As timing is everything and calendars fill up.. don't delay in getting started.. It is never too early to start this process, as the calligrapher can make suggestions that will be helpful and save you time.
LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN!!!
